The Chiquita’s 1st Cubs Game

I have been on the Chicago Cubs season ticket holder waiting list since 2002. I got a lovely call from the Chicago Cubs Organization offering me two free tickets for being a “loyal Cubs fan”. I’m sure it helped that they are playing so poorly…but I’ll take the day off work and two free tix!

I ended up getting 3 free tickets (thanks Abbie!) so I could bring the Chiquita to her first Cubs game! It ended up being a beautiful warm and sunny Chicago afternoon. My dear friend Bethie went with us and we had a blast.

It sure was different to attend the game with my daughter versus with my girlfriends just back in June. Read that post here. BUT, we did all the same fun things! We ate hot dogs and peanuts, met the Bear, sang the 7th inning stretch, and Bethie and I each had a beer.

After the 7th inning stretch we headed home; the 3 of us absolutely beat. We even had to make a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts; iced coffee for the adults and munchkins for Chiquita.

The Chiquita also got a certificate for attending her 1st Cubs game! Enjoy some pics. 🙂

Do you remember your 1st sporting event? I don’t remember mine, but there is one photo out there somewhere of my grandma, my mom, my aunt, my brother and I all at a Chicago Cubs game. I’ll see if I can find it. 🙂
